Community First Health Plan

Community First Health Plans lives up to its name by putting local families, access, and care at the center of everything they do. Created by University Health in 1995, Community First is the only locally owned and managed nonprofit health plan in the area, serving Bexar County and seven surrounding counties. Their work matters because health care can be confusing, expensive, and overwhelming — and families deserve information they can understand from people who are part of the same community. At today’s event, Community First is sharing health care information and resources to help residents better understand their options, ask questions, and take steps toward healthier lives. Their impact reaches beyond coverage; it is about helping our community feel supported, informed, and cared for.
